Julia Fiona Roberts is the daughter of Betty Lou Bredemus, and Walter Grady Roberts. She was born on October 28, 1967 at Atlanta. She is the fourth Roberts generation to reside in Atlanta, beginning with her farmer great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts. Her father was interested in theatre from a very young time. When he was a college students studying at Emory University from 1952 to 1954, he participated in many performances. After he enlisted in the Air Force and was spotted with Betty Lou Bredemus in Biloxi. Eric Anthony was their first born. They got married in the year 1957. Walter was enrolled in Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In the year 1957, they were discharged from the air force and Walter started his education at Tulane. Walter worked for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. In 1960, the couple relocated in Decatur Georgia. Walter and Betty Lou started production in 1964 for the local Saturday morning children's show on television called Bum Bum and His Buddies, which they funded themselves. The Actors and Writers Workshop was founded in 1964 and ran for six years. Lelisa Billingsley often referred to as Lisa, was born in 1965. Julia Billingsley followed in 1967.
