Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe comes from a multi-cultural family. Born within South London. Her mother is English and her father Nigerian. She was born and lived in a housing estate run by the council south of London. When she was 14she enrolled in The Brit School. It was the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art was where she received an acting BA. While attending the school, she was a part-time actor in several performances on stage, such as King Henry V playing Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe started her acting career by starring in a movie titled Storm Damage. In the years since she has appeared in Teachers and Doctors. Madekwe's debut film role was Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), opposite Colin Farrell. The following year she was cast as Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally she was a part of Trexx as Ollie and six episodes in Flipside. She played Bambi as Bambi in the ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe also played the main character on How to lose friends & make people feel alienated and be apathetic, which premiered on Sony Pictures Entertainment 2008. Some of her theatre credits include Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) and Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe officially made her US debut on The Beautiful Life in 2009. The show ran just two episodes on The CW, and was then removed from the air. The actress was selected in February 2011 as Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. The show premiered in May 2013 and it was announced that Madekwe who had been a series regular in the two previous seasons, would be leaving the show following a guest appearance in the premiere episode of the new season. She played Tituba in the program Salem between 2014 and 2016. From June to July 2012, Madekwe was married to her long-time love, actor Iddo Goldberg. Both of them have been in Secret Diary of a Call Girl. They also starred as partners in Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario and was a part of a large family. Ashley Leggat joined Roy and Patty and her other siblings - Brett, Todd and Bram and Rob. The four brothers of Ashley, all very active, took part in hockey during the winters and baseball in the summer, so that she grew up playing in baseball and arenas. Ashley was never able to walk. She danced. At two and a half, she began to take part in Baby Ballet. Ashley was enthralled by dance after this. Ashley competed in tap, jazz and ballet in high divisions. Ashley was awarded the best soloist awards at all of the major dance competitions including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance just to mention a few.
